Bounce houses in DC-area parks
Each park system sets its own rules for bounce houses and other inflatables, and some don’t allow them at all. Check yours below before you book one for a park party.
Washington, DC
At some DPR parks, with written approval requested in your original permit. DPR usually asks for a liability insurance certificate naming DC and DPR, and a moon bounce can never be left unattended. Source: DC DPR: Permit conditions
City of Alexandria
Ask first. Alexandria asks hosts to contact its Special Events office (703-746-5421) before bringing a moon bounce or tent to a picnic area. Source: Alexandria Recreation program guide, spring–summer 2026
City of Fairfax
Yes: one bounce house per pavilion permit, with an original certificate of liability insurance naming the City of Fairfax. Setting up on an athletic field needs a field permit too. Source: City of Fairfax: Pavilion rentals
Fairfax County

Montgomery County
